Week 6 Class Reflection

This week preparation involved double checking the various safety information, which I had more skimmed before in the process of completing the paperwork itself. Now going through it more thoroughly I feel more prepared for the trip.

I have also procured a variety of small snacks to bring throughout China to stave off any vegetarianism induced inconveniences. Some of these include nutritional bars, a small amount of cereal, and other basic things like gum.

One concern that did not set in for me until recently was the air quality in China. It seems like a pretty unavoidable reality, and as someone who mostly outgrew their asthma, I most definitely would not want to aggravate it. I am assuming some form of basic mask will come in handy for this during the trip, and have looked into purchasing it, though I assume it will be available there as well.

I wish I had prepared more earlier, as finals season has as usual pushed off some of my end of semester preparations, so it will likely be quite a lot of work in the few days prior to the trip. However I should be able to be ready in time. One thing that has more impacted my preparation is that various graduating friends are celebrating May 11th, as would be expected. Celebrating this night does put some strain on my sleep preceding heading to China, but it will be a long flight, so I should have plenty of time to catch up on that.

Altogether, I am feeling ready for the trip!
