We experienced so much over the course of 10 days that it's hard for me to figure out where I want to begin. It truly was a fantastic trip! Every detail was taken care of very well, and I appreciated the insights from the chaperones to help us for the entire trip. I'm also really … Continue reading Trip Debrief

Day 11: Shanghai- Disney//Old Town
Visiting Disney was a great way to top off the trip. Besides the natural excitement of visiting the company, the presentation was absolutely well done. She spoke in detail about the challenges and efforts their … Continue reading Day 11: Shanghai- Disney//Old Town
Day 10: Shanghai – ABInBev
One of the concerns of the site visits is the level of technical knowledge needed to engage in discussion for the site visits. There were points where I felt that I wasn't able to think critically and dig deeper when I was soaking in so much of what was happening in the presentations. ABInBev was … Continue reading Day 10: Shanghai – ABInBev
Day 9: Suzhou-Tiger Hill//Abbott//Shanghai
One of my favorite experiences of today was Tiger Hill. I really love hearing stories of the history-not just facts but legends and mystery behind the places that we see. It's incredible that the empowers tomb is still a mystery to many archaeologists because of the tower pagoda that rests on top. Even the surrounding … Continue reading Day 9: Suzhou-Tiger Hill//Abbott//Shanghai

Day 7: Zhujiajiao
We spent most of the day traveling but we had the opportunity to visit Zhujiajiao, a water village. The town is absolutely beautiful with a canal running through small shops. The arched bridges were absolutely beautiful as they crossed over the canals. I really enjoyed seeing such a beautiful and historic town. Miki told us … Continue reading Day 7: Zhujiajiao
Day 6: Zhanjiakou – YiLi // Nursing Home // Windfarm // Zhangbeidezhi Middle School // Mongolian Hot Pot
One of my favorite experiences of today was to visit the Middle School and meet with the English school in a town square. Interacting with the kids was incredible! The students were so smart and well-behaved! The girl I sat next to spoke very good English and was so nice to talk to. One of … Continue reading Day 6: Zhanjiakou – YiLi // Nursing Home // Windfarm // Zhangbeidezhi Middle School // Mongolian Hot Pot
Day 5: Beijing – Microsoft Garage// The Great Wall // Zhanjiakou
Our last company visit in Beijing was at Microsoft Garage. This was one of my favorite visits we've had so far. It was really interesting to learn more about how Garage works with Microsoft employees to encourage entrepreneurship and creativity. One of the presenters commented on a "Fail Fast" mentality to encourage people to pursue … Continue reading Day 5: Beijing – Microsoft Garage// The Great Wall // Zhanjiakou
Day 4: Tianjin- John Deere//Boeing
Today, it was really interesting to visit Tianjin and see John Deere and Boeing. After the debrief from our visits to BP and DiDi, we discussed about the role that government and politics play into the relationship between businesses in China. That was something I looked for today on our visits, and I think we … Continue reading Day 4: Tianjin- John Deere//Boeing
