Week 5 Class Reflection

Continuing in my preparations for the trip, this week I began actually thinking about the various logistics involved with the travel. I had previously hoped that I could bring all my luggage throughout the trip, but recent discussion on luggage restrictions seems to indicate that will not be too feasible due to me needing to bring it myself throughout various legs of the trip which involves domestic flights with potentially more restrictive luggage policies than just the main one for international travel (which is workable in itself). This poses significant issue for me, as, because I am an out-of-state student, I had planned to fly immediately out of O’hare after landing from China home to New Jersey. However now with the current situation it seems I might have to land in O’hare, travel back to campus, get my luggage, then the next morning (due to how the timing works out) travel back to the Chicago airports and fly home. This puts approximately a day’s delay on my reaching home, which is very unfortunate as I already have less than a week home before I must leave for my internship.

One solution I am looking towards is some sort of luggage storage service that can hold the luggage I cannot take on the trip to save this time, but I have concerns on the cost of that and being able to store it once I arrive at O’hare on the class bus. Overall this situation has been less than ideal, but I can make do.

In terms of other preparations it has mainly just been typical end of year preparations to move out of my apartment and pack for home as is usual.
