Today was our final class and it feels crazy that these past 6 weeks have gone by so fast. The trip is now less than 2 weeks away and I could not be more excited. It feels so real now and I can’t wait to jump on that plane and begin the trip! Host committee assignments came out today and I’m excited that I get to present on Boeing. I’m interning there this summer so it works out that I’ll get to learn a little bit more about the company in the process. I need to remember to go pick up my luggage tag and passport from the T&M office next week. The itinerary is even more finalized now and it’s exciting to see in greater detail all the places we’ll be going!
The last volunteer committee presentations were today including the one on technology. I had been waiting for this one as I know I need to download some sort of VPN and I also definitely need to order a converter for the outlets! I think I’m going to download the school VPN and maybe another free one off the app store. I know the group said they are likely slow and not as good as the paid ones, but I’m just not sure I’ll really be using the internet enough to justify paying for one. I also called my phone company today and let them know I would be traveling abroad. Next step: convert currency and alert my credit card company that I’ll be in China. It’s exciting doing all the final prep for the trip but I feel like there’s a lot to do and I’m worried I might forget one or two things. I’m sure everything will work out though, just have to make it through finals and then I can start focusing more on packing!
