In the first week of class, we got to know each other better by sharing our travel experiences and our personal backgrounds. This was a really good way to learn more about our classmates, as it turns out we have a diverse group of students! Some even have experience with traveling China or Asia in general, which will be helpful as we move forward. At this state in our journey, I was feeling excited for the trip. I am especially excited to get to know my peers better in the Technology and Management minor, so our in class activities were very useful. Additionally, this was the first time we got a sense for what to expect out of our class in preparation for our China trip. We learned about upcoming assignments and read our syllabus and I first learned about the blog posts and other activities and assignments we would be doing to become more knowledgeable about Chinese culture, and about logistics of our trip in general. Overall, in reflection of our first class session, I am looking forward to becoming immersed in Chinese culture and immersed in the group of my peers as we travel and learn together. I think this is a great opportunity to grow as a business person and as a traveler, so I am sincerely hoping to get the most out of this experience as I possibly can! In the next session, I will elaborate on what we have learned and continue to talk about my feelings as I reflect on the process of preparing for the Chinese Cultural emersion trip with my classmates!
