After today’s session, we found out what host committee we were a part of. As previously talked about in the reflections, I was really excited to go visit Didi because of the relevance it has to each of us on the trip. I was especially really pleased during class because our host committee was assigned to Didi. I think it will be very interesting because we all will be familiar with the product, however it will definitely be a little more challenging since they are not one our sponsors. We all have been on visits for our sponsors and have been exposed to how they work as a business, but with Didi we have to research a little more. Today, we also started our presentations for the volunteer assignment. A couple of highlight I really enjoyed was learning about the different types of food there and how to order different types of food. I also got really excited for some of the dishes because they looked really yummy. I really want to try the dumplings as that is something I like in the US, but I am hoping to try them in China because they are probably different. Another presentation I also really enjoyed was the one of the music in China. I thought it was interesting that K-pop isn’t as popular anymore and rap is becoming way more popular. One of the groups showed a music video with rap and I actually really enjoyed it! I think it is really interested that China has adapted a very similar bar scene as Americas and has also adapted similar styles with fashion and music.
