Class Reflection #4

While preparing for our business simulation in China, I realized that I would need to buy new luggage in order to go on this trip. My luggage from studying abroad in Europe is very beat up, and my internship will require quite a bit of travel this summer. I felt that at this point it would be smart of me to invest in new luggage. This was honestly kind of a fun experience for me because I enjoyed researching different types of luggage and the pros and cons in preparation for the trip. I have heard a lot about Away suitcases, so it was really interesting looking them up and seeing the extra features. Away suitcases include a charging port and an easily compressible pocket at the top, and they are also available in lots of fun colors. For the trip, I will officially make my purchase when I get home, but I am planning on buying one of these suitcases. I also looked into the brands Samsonite and Travelpro, because several blogs recommended them as well. Another perk I learned about when researching is that we get our own luggage tags as part of the T&M program, and I am excited to pick mine up this Friday! I also decided how much luggage I am bringing. I am going to do my best to utilize only a checked bag and a backpack. I am hoping to not have to bring any additional carry-on suitcases, and I am hoping that my combination of packing cubes and rolling clothing will help me avoid this. Assessing my luggage situation actually took longer than I thought, but the more purposefully I pack, the more ready I will feel for this experience.
